Description
For explosives: the time for which an item, when used in specific operational or training conditions, may be
expected to remain safe and suitable for service. The Operational Life of an explosive normally commences from
the time it is first exposed (ie unpacked), or from the commencement of its first installation/use/sortie, as
appropriate (STANAG 4315 and AOP-46).
